PRO Vietnam Welcomes 8 New Members To The Coalition

Recently, on August 13, 2024, the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam) held an official ceremony to announced the joining of new members in 2024. The event marked an important step forward in fostering connections and collaboration among the members of the coalition, united in their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

New member companies joining PRO Vietnam in 2024 include:

  • Thuan An Paper Trading Service Joint Stock Company;
  • Interfood Shareholding Company;
  • The Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (SABECO);
  • Vietnam Soy Milk Company (Vinasoy);
  • P. Vietnam Corporation;
  • Heineken Vietnam Brewery Limited Company;
  • Carlsberg Vietnam Breweries Limited Company;
  • Pramac Group.

With the joining of 8 new members, PRO Vietnam now has a total of 30 members, which is three times the number of members when it was first established in 2019. PRO Vietnam new members are all leading enterprises in the fields of consumer goods, importing, and recycling.

The simultaneous joining of many large enterprises from various industries reflects the strong reputation and influence of PRO Vietnam within the business community, which shares the desire to contribute to the nation’s sustainable development. It also reaffirms the alliance’s strong commitment to promoting packaging collection and recycling activities, contributing to a Greener, Cleaner, and More Beautiful Vietnam in the future.

Mr. Jahanzeb Khan, Vice Chairman of PRO Vietnam and CEO of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, shared: “PRO Vietnam is delighted to welcome the new members to the alliance. This event not only marks the beginning of a journey of cooperation, innovation, and mutual growth but also creates an opportunity for businesses to collaborate on more sustainable and effective initiatives in packaging management and recycling, driving the circular economy in Vietnam. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Quang, Deputy Technical Director of Vinasoy, stated that the company’s new membership in PRO Vietnam marks an important milestone, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to contributing to a sustainable future for the community.

Mr. Larry Lee Chio Lim, Deputy General Director of SABECO, expressed that the company understands the roles and impacts it creates, and therefore SABECO is strongly committed to orienting its business operations towards sustainability. By joining PRO Vietnam, the company will focus on two key issues: complying with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) at SABECO and jointly advocating for effective and practical EPR regulations and policies, contributing to a sustainable future for Vietnam.
